App-V on Windows 7 and for X64 platforms

appv Not so long ago Microsoft released an upgrade for the App-V client and Sequencer which adds support for Windows 7. I have been testing with the updated client on Windows 7 and will share my experiences in this post.

After playing around with the App-V client and sequences I created on Windows XP and Windows Vista I can now confirm that all of my legacy sequences are working great! Of course there are some applications that will just not work on these new operating systems just like they do when you would install them without App-V. So keep in mind the focus of this blog is not does the application work but does the application sequence work.

In the near future we will see the release of a beta version for X64 platforms. I will keep you posted on this one as well.
